Woolwich New Road frontageNave and sanctuary

Welcome to the website of St Peter the Apostle, Woolwich.

Our church is open every day for visits, prayers and services.  All are welcome, especially to our Sunday Masses.  Please see What’s On for our latest posts, and take a look at our Weekly Newsletters. Click here to contact us or for directions if you would like to visit us.

If you are joining in our services regularly, we would like to get to know you as a parishioner.  Please see our Newcomers page and Who’s who.

Parishioners may like to know more about our regular Worship & Activities  and our support for Christian growth and help.  We hope you also feel that this is your parish, held in trust for those who will follow us, and that you are able to take up some of the responsibility of its Stewardship.

The first resident Catholic priest since the 16th century was appointed for the Woolwich mission in 1816, with a chapel dedicated to St Patrick.  Our present church was built in 1842 to the designs of Augustus Welby Pugin, the pioneer of the Gothic Revival.  Please visit our Heritage pages if you would like to know more about our parish history and how we are looking after our heritage.
